PROLOGUE
They say everything has a demon. People, Animals, even Fictional characters. But this story isn't about any of those things. It's about something that isn't a person, isn't an animal, and is most definitely NOT fictional. It's a true and complete demon.
And It's called Tails Doll.
The Tails Doll was once believed to be but a small, little Doll that resembled the Sonic character Tails in the old game Sonic R. He is more than just a 3D Doll, though. He is a demon. A killer. A nightmare.
It is said that anyone who completes the game Sonic R 100% with Tails Doll will feel his wrath and face eternal pain. Only lucky ones are given the option to become his slave; even though they find out that even when you're not in danger, you're still in trouble. The Tails Doll seeks the 7 Pure Souls, whom each contain the power of one of the 7 Chaos emeralds. If he was able to collect all 7 of these souls, Armageddon will creep over the land until nothing is left but a fiery mound of ash, left to float in a void of darkness..
Although this demon may seem like he is invincible, many people have attempted to destroy him. It seems that the Gem on his head is what feeds his power. Everyone who has ever tried to defeat him have all made one fatal mistake; They cut off the gem, instead of destroying it. Destroying each little shard of the gem is the only way the Tails Doll may be completely destroyed. Sadly, it is almost impossible for the gem to be crushed. Only a Demon who has power equal to the Tails Doll would be able to fully destroy it.
Only one Demon exists with the will to do this task.
The Kirby Doll.
PART ONE: DARK BEGINNINGS
I woke up with a sharp pain in my head. What happened? All I remember was that evil doll, he was right in front of me.. Yet so far.. I can remember the evil voice he had. It put a chill inside of me so intense, It made me feel like I had a soul, even though I was sure I didn't. Demons like me don't have souls. We just have darkness.
... Yet, If darkness is all I was, why did I want to destroy that doll? Why did I feel like I had to get rid of him to save the entire world? Why did I even WANT to save the world?
These were the questions that always puzzled me. They were always unanswered, but I never cared. Demons don't have to care.
I pushed them out of my mind I thought about what happened. I was chasing that doll through a thick forest, full of pure darkness. The Red Gem on his head shined much stronger than it normally does, and then poof. Everything was dark. The last thing I heard was his dark, little voice... "All Light turns to dark, eventually." Could he have been saying that I wasn't a dark demon? But rather a demon of light? No, that's impossible. The Tails Doll must be trying to mess with me. It wouldn't be surprising.
I stood up and looked around. The two angelic wings on my back weren't too scratched up, and the halo over my head was the normal color of gold. My stitches weren't undone at all, and there weren't any other scratches on my small, round body. I was told I was a Demon trapped inside a Demonic Doll shaped like the Kirby race, although as I said before, Demons don't have to care about these things. Knowing that I was perfectly fine, I decided to find my way out of the dark forest filled with these odd memories. I had to restart my search for the Tails Doll.
And this time... I would not let him trick me.
I will trick him.
... And so my journey begins. After much walking, I have finally managed to find the end of the forest. A small town was built right outside of it, where several memories came back to me. I looked to a small hill where a house had been burnt down, and remembered the Tails Doll. He was the one who burnt the house down. I saw something move around in the ashes and tried to get a better look at what was happening. A man was dragging something out of the ashes.. It was a mutated, singed figure.. And then I realized it was a human being. Someone must have been in the house when the Tails Doll burned it. Several people crowded around in shock, as the rescue workers pulled out 2 more figures. One of the figures was much smaller than both of them. It must have been a child.. Probably one who was playing Sonic R. I found it a bit... sad.. to actually have your life taken away just by playing a video game.
I started to fly, and moved toward the end of the town. There were several buildings, all of which had scratches all over them. It was again the work of Tails Doll. I chased him through the town, and he caused much more damage than I had hoped. I sat on the roof of one of the buildings, and looked at the town from a higher viewpoint. 2 Other buildings were burned, and I assumed that more people were killed, as well. All throughout the town people ran about, asking questions, crying, and wondering if anything like this will ever happen again. As I sat and wondered these things, I heard something behind me. I looked back, and jumped up in anger. I was ready to fight, and he wasn't going to get away this time.
The Tails Doll was right behind me.
Tails Doll: "Well, well. Look what we have here. A little girl must have misplaced her doll. Heh heh!"
Kirby Doll: "Silence, you demon! You're going to pay for the trouble you have caused me..."
Tails Doll: "Oh? What did I ever do to you, Plush doll?"
Kirby Doll: "Don't even start that with me.. You know exactly what you have done, demon. My revenge will be fast and painful, so don't even try to escape me... I will destroy you!"
At that point I didn't wait for his response. I jumped into the air and focused my power all at the gem on his head. I was so quick, he couldn't even move before I let out a beam of energy. It hit the Gem directly, causing it to explode. The red shards turned black and faded away. The Tails Doll stood still with his blank expression, as his cold, black eyes began to lose their life. He then fell back off the building, and when he hit the ground, he faded away into nothing.
... But if I did destroy the Tails Doll.. Why didn't I feel any better after that defeat? Why did I still feel like there was darkness hanging over the land? Then I thought of something that I had forgotten about ever since our last encounter. There was more than one Tails Doll. Hundreds. Thousands. Even MILLIONS of other Tails Doll copies. And the Tails Doll I just killed was one of them.
That's why he didn't know what he did to me. He wasn't the real Tails Doll...
Just a pointless little slave.
So far I've been having Dark Beginnings. After the encounter with the fake Tails Doll, not much has happened in the little town. People eventually forgot about the attack, and went back to their normal lives. I've stayed hidden on a hill not to far from the town, just so I could keep an eye on things.
Today I've decided to leave the town.. seeing how everything's normal again. But.. why did I feel like I shouldn't leave? Everything felt a bit odd today. The sky was just turning from black to orange, and the townspeople should be waking up at any moment. Nothing too odd. The sky looked the same. The air and wind was the same. Everything looked the same.
I decided to float around the town, just to make sure everything was.. well, normal, I suppose. I looked in several house windows. A man was making breakfast, a little girl was watching television, a family was sitting down on a couch eating, a little boy was playing video games, an older man was reading a paper...
...Wait, video games? I floated back to the house that I saw the little boy in. Sure enough, he was still playing video games. And I was fairly sure I knew which game he was playing. I used my powers to go through the wall, and sure enough, I was correct.
He was playing Sonic R.
PART TWO: SEEKING DEATH
As soon as I realized what game he was playing, everything went dark. It was probably too late for the little boy to do anything, seeing how he just tagged Super Sonic with.. The Demon. I turned invisible and floated behind the cabinet his TV was placed on, and watched to see what was going on. The little boy was too scared to move. The TV instantly went to the character select screen.. and That Demon was missing. The boy looked around in horror and held a pillow in front of him, and curled up in a little ball. He must have known what was going on. I find it odd how humans will attempt these things just to see if they're real.. It's as if they WANT to die.
"Don't be afraid, Little one..." A voice said from behind the couch. A semi-transparent figure floated from behind it and moved right in front of the boy, who was still looking around in horror. I assumed the Tails Doll was invisible, and only I could see him since my power was equal to his.
"Who... Who's There?! What do you want?!" Yelled the little boy. He flung the pillow around, in an attempt to hit the demon that wanted his soul.
Tails Doll: "Now, now.. no need to attack. Just relax. It will only hurt for an eternity!"
As his voice turned much more violent, he became solid and visible. The boy shrieked in terror and threw his pillow at him, but the Tails Doll merely sliced it in half with his dark power. At this point, I knew I had to do something.
I rolled out from behind the cabinet and floated behind the Tails Doll. Using my energy, I made a ball of light within my hand (Which I find odd, seeing how I am a demon of darkness), and began to materialize it. In only 3 seconds, the energy transformed into a perfectly pointed sword.
The demon sensed my power, and turned around. He, however, was too late. By now I was already aimed at his Red gem. I swiftly flew into the air and dived down at him, and began to slash my blade at incredible speeds. By the time I finished slashing, his red gem was completely destroyed and his powerless body had already fallen to the floor. And, just like last time, he turned into a dark shadow and evaporated.
I looked over to the boy, who was still on the couch. He, however, was passed out. He must have blacked out while I was destroying the doll. At least I would still be a secret to the town. Just as I was about to leave, I heard the game system make an odd noise and I looked back.
The top of the game system opened up, revealing Sonic Gems Collection.
The disk then turned black, and was destroyed.
I floated over to the little boy, and tried to wake him up. Nothing happened. I placed my small hand on his chest, to make sure he was still alive. His heart was beating furiously, and I feared it was going to stop and kill him. I was never able to quite understand the human heart. It continued beating, however, so I made my way into the kitchen and poured some water in a bowl on the counter. I carefully floated back to the boy, and threw the water over his head. He slowly began to move, and eventually sat up. He rubbed his eyes and looked around. Then he saw me.
"Oh no, you're still here for my soul! Please, leave me alone! Go away! I'm not worth it!" A picture of pure terror was on his face. I couldn't help but laugh. I decided that talking to him couldn't hurt now. I used my powers to touch his mind, so I could talk to him with my telekinetic powers. "Now, now, young boy," I began, "There's no reason for you to fear the one who just saved your life. I am the Kirby Doll, and my mission is to destroy Tails Doll. The Tails Doll you just faced was a mere slave. Yes, he DID want your soul, but I was able to kill him before he took it. You're safe now." I looked down to the game system he had, and made a sigh. "Now, tell me, why would you even want to push your luck with such a curse? Have you really turned human curiosity into such a dangerous weapon?"
I could tell the boy was both scared and disappointed. He looked to me with a sad look in his eyes. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't know that it was real, I mean, I just thought..." His voice began to shake and tears came to his eyes. I decided that I shouldn't mess with him anymore. I turned around and left the house. I finally felt as if the town was safe. Although I knew more danger would somehow come back, I couldn't waste my time here forever. I floated back to the edge of town and looked ahead. I was going to have to cross a large river, and then make my way out of a moderately sized forest. Behind the forest a large mountain projected out of the tree tops, so I assumed I would have to climb out of that as well. I had no idea what lied behind the mountain, although I was sure there was going to be another town to investigate. I had no time to lose. I quickly began to float across the field and make my way to the river in front of me. Unfortunately, I had no idea what was waiting for me right behind the river. Evil forces were rising, and if I had known better, I would not be Seeking Death like this. It was a mistake of curiosity more deadly than playing Sonic R. For me, it was too late to turn back now. By the time I realized what the "River" was, I was right in front of it. I looked down, and about 7 feet under the ground, I saw a dark red liquid. I wasn't standing in front of a river at all.
I was standing in front of a reservoir of blood.
The blood was fresh. It had a strong stench and an odd glow to it. I looked to the left and right, and I was surprised to see that the blood became more liquified. Oddly, it would appear the main pool of blood was only in the area in front of me.. everything else was the normal river water, only colored a dark red from the spread of the blood. But why was the blood only in one single area.. and how did it get there?
I dipped my hand into the pool and observed it, but before I could come to a conclusion, the blood began to ripple. It started out gentle and slow, but eventually began to speed up and become more violent. Then, instantly, an odd sound came from the blood. It was like a ruffled moan, then an odd distorted voice.
"SHCLUUMPY!"
The blood instantly shot up into the air and began to swirl around, before taking the form of a large dragon-like creature. I quickly rolled back a little, to avoid the splattering blood. The creature finished it's transformation by popping out a diamond connected to it's head by a line of blood. No wonder the blood was so mysterious and sinister... The Tails Doll had created a Blood Demon in an attempt to destroy me!
The blood demon stared at me, and began to speak. It used the same, demonic voice as before. It was muffled and deep, with a short echo of the last thing he said once he finished speaking.
Blood Demon: "YOOOOU! YOU ARE THE ONE CALLED KIRBY DOLL, THE DEMON WHO WISHES TO DESTROY THE MASTER OF EVIL! I AM SYRPINTROSS*, THE BLOOD DEMON THAT HAS BEEN SUMMONED FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE UNDERWORLD TO FIND AND DESTROY YOU! PREPARE TO FACE ETERNAL PAAAAIN!"
Kirby Doll: "Ah, Syrpintross. You are familiar to me, since you are a demon much like the Tails Doll. Of course, you are only a weak and worthless Demon. Since you have sold your soul to slavery for that pathetic Doll."
Syrpintross: "SIIILENCE! YOU WILL PAY FOR NOT GIVING YOUR RESPECT TO THE GREAT MASTER OF EVIL! YOU KNOW NOT OF MY GRAND POWERS OF SHADOW AND DEATH!"
The blood around Syrpintross began to ripple, and two large, clawed hands shot up around him. He let out a roar as blood shot out from his hands. I was unable to evade his attack, and was thrown back as the blood covered me. What I didn't expect, however, was that the blood was more than a inconvenience; it was also a very powerful form of attack. The blood began to burn my cloth, and seep into my fibers. It felt as if flames were engulfing me, slowly suffocating my thoughts.
I swiftly cast an energy shield to cast off the blood. Thankfully it worked, but my cloth was terribly damaged. Another attack like that could very well destroy me, and my entire search would have to start over again. That was something I could not afford. I needed to think of a plan quickly, and I only came up with one solution. If I wanted to kill a blood demon as powerful as Syrpintross, I would have to become a demon myself.
My true demonic powers would have to be released.
***Syrpintross: Pronounced "Serpent - Tross". Syrpintross is a demon made of cursed blood, that has the ability to burn through whatever it touches. He is considered to be one of the "5 Great Demonic Beasts", of which can only be summoned by demons of greater power. The only known demon that can summon these Beasts is the Tails Doll, although legend has it that there may be a second demon with enough power to summon the Beasts as well.
