I was bored and decided to remake the TDRL webcomic, with a few changes. Since just having random shit didn't work out I decided to make it one of those co-author house comics since most of the people that actually post are spriters. So yeah... link to the comic: tdrl.smackjeeves.com/the current rooms made (I'll need a little help with the actual lab portion of the house): update: Okay, some of you guys don't like the idea of me changing the web comic into a sprite comic. Fair enough. so I figured why not make two separate comics? So I did. the links for both are below. (so adria, you can stop bitching about it.) TDRL: the drawn comic: tdrltdc.smackjeeves.com/TDRL: the sprite comic: tdrltsc.smackjeeves.com/

I CALL DIBS ON HAVING.... what can I have that might suit me? I know! I'll make a cave hideout thing where I can easily go in and out of the lab whenever I'm needed or when we go on a mission.

Hooray! It's like life at the lab in comic form!
But seriously, I like that there is a more universal format now. The big thing I have trouble coming up with is the setting, and this kind of takes care of that. Of course we'll have to expand on the world of the T(D)RL, but I'm up for it.

I'm thinking about having missions assigned every other week for the plot.

Damn, this looks like a whole lot of fun. I'd like something with swords near me. Like a blacksmiths type of rooms. If that'd be ok that is. Hmm, be cool if we had something like this in whirled or something. Like upload that as a backdrop, have it link to different rooms, and even better, have it private to only T(D)RL members...just something to think about thogh. It would take a lot of time and control too. The comic seems more manageable. But something like that on whirled would be fun. ~J

I'm thinking about having missions assigned every other week for the plot. Sounds good, but we'll want introductions to everyone first. We should probably work out who will be actively working on the comic, who will be less routine, all that. Edit: I created a base of the rooms, so anyone who wants to add something can just build on the format. Of course, it won't be usable for something like G's cave. Also, does anyone like the idea of a pokemon style overworld, or should we use something else? I'll probably get around to getting a comic up there soon.

A pokemon style overworld sounds sounds good. I see a lot of the earthbound overworlds and those are getting a little overused. Maybe something like from the mystery dungeon or ruby/sapphire games? oh, and I made those rooms from a pre-made set of items and stuff from this: elouai.com/new-room-maker/index.phpvery unoriginal but it works and it's easy to add new stuff in the rooms without making them look out of place.

Well that makes thing a lot easier. As for the overworld, I think I'll look into PK Emerald. They have a lot of interesting structures, and maybe one would work for the lab. I think I'll get started on my comic now. Edit: I've got a lab room! EDIT: I now have a comic up.
