Prologue
My name is Xarishro. I have no last name, nor do I require one. To me, a name is simply a reference so others can get your attention, and that is all a name will ever be to me.
If you were to stare into my eyes long enough, you would see that I was once a good person, but most people run away from me before bothering to get a good look at me. They have good reason for this though. I am known killer, and they flee to keep their lives which I may or may not choose to take.
If conditions had been better, I might have fought on the side of good along with the blue hedgehog known as Sonic. Dreams of what could have happened serve no purpose for me though, or so my previous master would inform me. He said my purpose was to serve him, and so I did. Times have changed though. New heroes and new villains have emerged, and old ones have fallen, my old master included.
Sonic and his friends, Tails and Knuckles, defeated my old master, Tails Doll, over a year ago. Naturally, I should have been freed from my servant position after my master was defeated, but evil does not wait here in Mobius. With all of the training I have, it would have been a waste to another mastermind if my skills were not put to use, so before I even had a day's rest from being free, I was captured by Rore.
Unfortunately for me, I had planned to join forces with Sonic, assuming he would accept me, and see what it would be like fighting on the side of good. But it appears I will not have that chance for a long time now. On my side, I had the power of mystery. My old master never permitted me to talk because he wanted me to appear as a mindless drone to Sonic. Voice has inflections and tones convey emotion, no matter who you are. I am no exception. If Sonic had heard me talk, he would have seen that I too, contain emotions within my mind, and that would lead to the possibility of him trying to use those emotions to talk me out of whatever task I had. While I would never disobey my old master, if Sonic had any feeling at all that he could change me, then it would have easily given him enough hope to stand a greater chance at defeating my old master.
Rore, my new master, has a different way of thinking. He sees that Sonic did not require a weakness in his opposing force to grant him hope, therefore he sees no reason in keeping me silent. He believes it will be better for me to talk and be the messanger because I am someone they already hate and will take seriously.
That, unfortunately, is my first assignment: to make an announcement that there is a new villain in town. While this simple speech sounds harmless, Rore has already chosen to avoid any confrentation with anyone who may stand a chance at killing him, therefore I will be the one taking all the hits. Thankfully I know how being a servant works so I already know how to plan for getting unearned blame for extra crimes. Remember, just because a hero focuses on destroying one villain doesn't mean there aren't others out there who will take advantage of whoever has the attention of the good guys.
