I somehow got some virus on my laptop that stops me from doing pretty much everything... so yeah, I probably won't be online for a while until it somehow gets fixed.

Darn. I know how you feel. Once I even had one that kept shutting the whole computer off, such a pain.
Well, hope you get it fixed soon.

On the Wii again, which doesn't let me log in. Thankfully, IT is incapable of getting almost any known virus.
I've got a virus too, and I think it may have come from this site. Does your computer say that all the applications are infected and then take you to this "Antispyware Soft?"
Is it possible that guy from the "Time to say u goodbyes" thread (something like that) actually did put a virus on the site?
Whoever made it, the idiot(s) spelled powerful with an extra L. I swear, I think I might write a virus (Though it would be weak as I am just learning coding...) and send it back at them!

Though it was from some other site I joined. Edit: I'm not sure what all the virus does, all I know is it pulled up something called Antispyware Soft which I couldn't close or anything. As soon as I saw it starting to pull up that "Purchase software" thing over and over and saw a bunch of internet explorer pages opening, I just turned off my computer. Edit edit: Just did some searching and apparently this virus has been infecting people on proboards since last december o.o I wonder if we should have TDF move TRL to another webhoster.

You can avoid that if you are using firefox and the adblock add-onn... Or maybe you could look for a ad blocker for IE. If you are using IE8, I believe this site tells you how to block ads. www.ghacks.net/2009/04/19/internet-explorer-8-ad-blocking-gets-easier-with-adblock-ie/

Hey your situation sounds a lot like my situation a couple of months ago KRD... except the so called "virus" was just saying I had viruses and it kept wanting me to buy some anti spyware crap. My dad fixed it by using McAfee Virus scan, and removed the malicious programs. But since your virus is actually screwing your comp up big time, maybe you can just send it in to a virus removal place.

@ Pyro: Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I didn't know that Firefox could do that, guess I'll use Firefox instead of IE from now on.
@ G-virus: I'm going to take my laptop in to get it reformatted anyways since it's always been really glitchy. Someone told me that I have one of the worst versions of Vista, but I don't know much about computers so I can't put any input in on that.

I got my computer fixed, a friend of my dad's did it. Turns out safe mode works for more than you would think. You have to start up in safe mode and deactivate the virus so you can then remove it with another program. Search "nuqel.e" for instruction on how to remove it. It mutates a lot though, so it might be tricky to find.
So yeah, I upgraded the security on my computer. Now I use Firefox and have a free antivirus program called Panda Cloud. ;D
...Yeah, anyway, I hate the hacker's guts.

Edit: I did what Chaosky suggested and now my computer is running fine again! Well, it's slow, but my laptop is usually slow. I may still have a trace of the virus on my computer, not sure. I'm not sure what jbrhkmwh is. That's the thing I unchecked in the startup section, which is what prevented the virus from loading whenever I turned on my laptop, and that option is still there to turn back on if I want.
